Day 01 - Colombo / Negombo

 

Arrive Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport. You will be met by our tour manager and transferred to your hotel in Negombo. Freshen up and proceed to visit the Munneswaram Temple in Chilaw. Munneswara Temple is considered the oldest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Srilanka. It is believed to be the place where King Rama prayed to Lord Shiva to remove the Brahma Hatya Dosha as he had killed King Ravan who was a Brahmin. Later visit Manawari Temple in Chilaw which houses the main Shivalinga as to the belief where Lord Rama installed four Shivalingas, including Manawari, Thiru Koneshwaram, Thiru Ketheshwaram and Rameswaram in India to get rid of Brahma Hatya Dosha. Manavari Temple is the first place where Lord Rama installed and prayed to the Shivalinga. It is called Ramalingam as was erected by Lord Rama Return back to the hotel. Day 02 - Negombo / Kandy

 

This morning after breakfast check out from your hotel and transfer to Kandy via Pinnawala and visit the Elephant Orphanage. In the evening visit to Kandy temple and watch a cultural show. Dinner and overnight at Kandy

 

Day 03 - Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

 

After breakfast check out from your hotel and transfer to Nuwara Eliya. Later visit Sri Bhakta Hanuman in Ramboda. This Temple was built in honor of Hanuman, who on the hills of Ramboda, was searching for Sita Devi. Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka has built a temple dedicated to Hanuman, making him a sacred persona. Special poojas held for Hanuman on every full moon day is attended by thousands of devotees. Also visit the Sita Tear Pond and Sita Kotuwa which means ‘Sita’s Fort’ in This is one of the important places to visit in Sri Lanka as part of Ramayana Trails , Sita Kotuwa the first place where Seetha was held captive by King Ravana after kidnapping her. This place is surrounded by beautiful waterfalls, streams, and varieties of flora and fauna. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel.

 

Day 04 - Nuwara Eliya

 

This morning after breakfast visit the Seetha Amman Temple, Nuwara Eliya. This temple is built on the side of a stream where it believed that Seetha Devi bathed. This temple also celebrates Lord Rama, Seetha Devi, Lakshmana, and Hanuman. This temple is known to remark the site of Ashoka Vatika, where Sita Devi stayed as King Ravana’s captive. The footprints in both large and small sizes found by the river are said to be Hanuman’s, a fact making the site more interesting to investigate. 

Divurumpola Temple, Nuwara Eliya -This place holds its importance as it remarks Sita Devi’s “Agni Pariksha” (a test). The locals live around this area worship the temple, and this place also called Divurumpola (place of oath) in Sinhala. As the myth says, the swearing of Sita Devi on this place has been legally accepted.  Gayathri Peetham, said to the place where Ravana’s son Meghanath propitiated, Lord Shiva, with penance and, in turn, was granted supernatural powers by the mighty god before the battle.  Seetha Eliya (Ashoka Vatika), Ashoka Vatika is a garden in which Sita stayed under Ravana’s captive. The Hakgala Garden, located at the base of the Hakgala Rock, forms part of the famed Ashok Vatika.

 

Day 05 - Nuwara Eliya / Bentota

 

Breakfast at the hotel check out and transfer to Bentota via Kithulgala, visit to Kithulgala white water raffting , Kitulgala is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. The Academy Award-winning “The Bridge on the River Kwai” was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala. Arrive Bentota and check into your hotel. In the evening take a boat ride on

the Balaptiya river. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel.

 

Day 06 - Bentota / Colombo

 

Breakfast at your hotel and transfer to Colombo via Kosgoda visiting the Turtle Farm.

Later visit the Anjaneyar Temple, Colombo, situated in the capital of Colombo famous as the only temple in the world to own a chariot for Anjaneyar. This temple is the first Anjaneyar Temple in Sri Lanka, also being the only one as Panchamuga (five faced) temple. Devotees conduct chariot festival every year at the end of December and the beginning of January. As respect for this temple, all the people wash their hands and feet before entering the temple. And not cross hands inside the temple. Kelaniya Vibhishana Temple, Colombo a sacred place for Buddhists. It is believed that this temple was hallowed during the third and final visit of the Lord Gautama Buddha to Sri Lanka eight years after gaining enlightenment.

Kelaniya is also the place where Lakshmana has coronated Vibhishana as the Sri Lankan ruler after the demise of king Ravana. The crowning of Vibhishana depicted through beautiful murals found outside the Buddhist temple. Sinhalese Buddhists believe and honour Vibhishana, considering him as one of the gods to protect the island. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel.

 

Day 07 - Colombo / Home

 

After breakfast check out from your hotel and transfer to the Airport to board you flight back home Tour end with happy memories.
